Dog urine can pass through the turf fibres and infill and collect within the lower layers of the turf system. Hosing may dilute the smell temporarily, but it often does not treat the organic residue causing it.

Is TurfGlo Shield a full turf clean?
No. Shield is a professional odour and hygiene treatment for turf that is generally clean. It does not include power brushing, deep debris removal or fibre rejuvenation.
Which service should I choose for strong or long-standing odours?
Choose the Pet Zone Clean if the odour is strong, regularly returns, or the turf also contains embedded hair, dirt or flattened fibres.
When can pets and children use the turf again?
The area can be used once the treatment has dried. Drying time varies with weather and site conditions.
Does Shield include moss, mould, algae or weed treatment?
No. These require a separate assessment and quotation.
How often should Shield be booked?
Frequency depends on the number of dogs, turf usage, the season and the severity of the odour. After the first service, TurfGlo can recommend a suitable maintenance interval. No fixed plan is required.
What if the area is larger than 40m²?
Send clear photos and the approximate area size and TurfGlo will provide an estimated price before booking.
Do I need to prepare my turf before the appointment?
Yes. To help us complete your treatment efficiently, please remove pet waste, loose leaves and surface debris beforehand, and ensure the turf is reasonably clear and accessible. TurfGlo Shield is a professional hygiene and odour treatment and does not include general garden or turf clean-up.
